Since the early 1960s, we at Lorenzoni have distributed industrial and marine engines for VM Motori of Cento. In the 1980s, the HR (High Revolution) project was created, which involved the development of industrial marine engines designed to operate at high speeds (from 3800 to 4200 rpm). The tunnel engine architecture was maintained to ensure robustness and reliability for each type of use. Through continuous improvements in materials and technologies, the HR series developed into the MD series (electronic injection management), followed by the MR series (BOSCH common rail injection) in 2007. Lorenzoni, which has always been a partner of VM Motori in both sales and technical assistance, has agreed with VM to develop the engines in the MR704 and MR706 series and update them to meet the emissions standards necessary for RCD2 approval, effective since 17 January 2017.

RCD2 approval is necessary to obtain CE certification for pleasure boats. The ML704 and ML 706 engines were designed with the support of VM based on our desire to develop an engine with construction characteristics that differentiate it from almost all other manufacturers' products due to its power range from 150 to 350 hp.
Compared to the MR version, the engine incorporates small changes to make it less polluting and more respectful of nature, while its highly reliable construction features remain unchanged, e.g. gear timing and cooled turbine. As far as our sales and assistance network is concerned, the current VM network is maintained, which for decades has been synonymous with reliability and competence.
