Originally specialized in manufacturing car seat covers, Pörtner Seats built the first complete seats for marine leisure boats in 1974. Additionally followed by a special range of products for arcades and casinos in 1984. The continuing success required the 1990 move to the new 1,000 square meter production hall in Bielefeld. In 1994, a further diversification with a technically advanced helm seat program for commercial shipping followed. In 2017, the company moved to Spenge (Eastern Westphalia) into an even more efficient production hall.
Quality, durable and ergonomic design always has been highest priority at Pörtner Seats. Mostly producing in short and medium runs, the Spenge-based company handles also individual orders for ambitious customers with high demands and attention to detail. To ensure the highest level of quality we have qualified and skilled employees working with us. All of them with many decades of experience in the high-end upholstery industry. We can also offer a repair and spare parts service to all our customer needs.
After a long-term cooperation with Zwaardvis BV, the Dutch manufacturer of seat and table pedestals has taken over Pörtner Seats in 2012. Pörtner Seats is responsible for the distribution of Zwaardvis products in Germany.
