When 8-year-old Rodney Keenan first dragged a dinghy off his friends neighbour’s front lawn to go sailing for the first time in Auckland New Zealand, he didn’t know it was the start of a journey to develop the highest performing yacht sails in the world. But that was more than thirty years ago.

Rodney learned early the power of customisation in yacht sail making by hand. After leaving school he began learning everything about sail design, from building and fitting to testing it out on the water. There weren’t any plotters or computers back then, just a pair of simple scissors, it was the best way to learn. 

Since then Rodney has sailed over 150,000 ocean miles on all types of yacht including a long and varied history of highly competitive performance sailing, ranging from record breaking multi-hulls to round the world challenges and America’s Cup teams. He has 17 Rolex Sydney Hobarts under his belt, plus Fastnet, Transpacs and a host of other major offshore races.
