MAXPROP
The MAX-PROP propeller has solved the problem of motor propulsion on sailing ships, thanks to a new device:
- in motor speed the blades take the pitch chosen at the time of assembly, arranging themselves, in a completely automatic way and with an identical attitude, in their forward running position and in their reverse running position (thus optimizing the propeller performance both during motor navigation and during motorized maneuvers in port).
- in sailing, on the other hand, the blades are arranged, always in a completely automatic way, in their flag position (thus reducing the resistance to their dragging in the water to a minimum).
The result thus achieved offers good mechanical strength and motor efficiency, comparable to those of a well-sized traditional propeller with fixed blades. A good hydrodynamic profile with very small sections to minimize drag in the water during sailing.
